Matris KTM Steering Damper - Race Replica

Wow, didn't think it would make that much of a difference. Installed it on the bike, and cranked it to 7, solved about 95% of my complaints, cranked it to 8 and it was 100%. No more vague feeling on acceleration, no wobble in wind, over shoddy tarmac, bridge seams, etc. The front end is solid, and it definitely inspires more confidence on the highway and through the twisties. Only have about 100 miles with it installed, but it's worth every penny. Install was a bit of a pain due to tight space, but with some patience and a few breaks between very tiny wrench turns, it installed just fine. No issues with clearance either. Followed the written instructions included, and even with the Evotech radiator guard installed, there are no issues with it hitting the radiator guard.

Absolutely incredible what a difference this Matris SDR steering damper makes. Literally bolts on without any problems. Just set the steering play and adjust the strength of the damper and ride! Very easy and highly recommended.

The stock steering damper is fine on smooth roads but where I live those are few and far between. My 790 was prone to nasty headshakes while cornering on rough roads at speed. The Matris damper put an end to that. Simple installation 15-20 minutes. Do yourself a favor and clean off the old Loctite from the bolts with a thread chaser or wire wheel. Then install new Loctite when installing.

I bought this for my 2019 1290 GT. The OEM steering damper was not working too well for me on fast corner exits. After removing and comparing the OEM to this Matris, the OEM felt 'gritty'. The Matris was smooth as silk, and highly adjustable. It was an easy install and works great.

Easy to do bolt-on upgrade that easily accommodates greater (or lesser) damping than the O.E.M. model. Seems like it's crafted well, and definitely adds the ability to fine-tune where you otherwise couldn't. Beats having all the stuff up top like some other solutions, IMO.
