This makes so much sense and was engineered about as good as it can get.

This is a must have on any 950/990 ADV!
Even if you are not going to use an open air filter element, the Snap Out is a must have! It is a little fiddly to install, instructions help here and I didn't have any until I looked for them on the website, but once in, it is MAGIC. Love it!!

Spend time now to save it later
I had a few minor issues with the installation process but nothing that couldn't be worked around with some creativity. Once it was on there it's solid, positively locks on, and removes very quickly and easily as described. It's already saved me from pulling all the glove box bolts out twice so the extra install time was well worth it. I would recommend it for any 950/990 owner that does their own service work.

Changed my life. I hated those stupid wood screws. I lost them so often I bought a 10 pack of replacements. My only schniggle is the fastener requires a tool, quarter, etc to remove. If it had a D ring like the intake it would be even easier to remove.

Great product, however installation instructions should be included. Figured it out though. (Instructions can be viewed from the downloads page)

These bikes are not the easiest machines to work on and the glovebox is a pain in the a**. Especially if you're forgetful and need to get back in there after you just buttoned it all up ;o)
This eliminates that PITA! High quality hardware. Sometimes I pull the glovebox off just because it's so easy now.

Nothing is more frustrating than a few dropped screws in between the cylinders which then get stuck on the starter or fall into the skid plate. Never Again! It works. It's easy to operate. Easy to install. If you own a 990 and don't have this, do yourself a favor. I did not think it would be as solid and easy to use as it is. It is every bet as solid and stable as the stock set-up. Rottweiler did not overstate/oversell the usefulness virtue of the snap-out. In fact, it's much better than their literature makes it sound, IMO. My greatest disappointment is I didn't sooner find this time saving, profanity alleviating device. Wonderful folks to work with as well.
