Read too many reviews of even new SMC Rs with blown clutch slave cylinders or failing at relatively low mileages with the stock unit. Bought and installed it so I can sleep in peace.

Needs better instructions
Overall, the cylinder is a 5-star product.
However, mine came with a pair of o-ring washers that were not mentioned in the included instructions. I got on Oberon's website and found much better instructions, the washers were only to be used on bikes that came with washers. Mine did not.
Product: 5 stars
Included instructions: 1 star

No more paranoia about a failing stock unit, easy install. I think the clutch feel became a little stiffer compared to stock.

What the stock clutch slave should have been.
My slave failed on my Husqvarna Svart 701 in less than 2000 miles, I opted for the Oberon instead of the stock warranty replacement. I actually ordered it before it failed to try and get ahead of the game but it arrived after the the stock unit let go and left me stranded. Good thing is I was only a mile from my house. Could not be happier. Much smoother motion than stock and superior design over stock as well. Highly recommend.

My first OEM clutch slave failed at 250 miles. After a warranty repair by KTM, it failed again at 3000 miles. I currently have about 500 miles on the aftermarket Oberon and everything seems to be going great! The install was very easy, but bleeding took quite a while. After it was finally all dialed in, the clutch feel was amazing. I was impressed with the build quality and look of the part and couldn't be happier with it. It is almost a mandatory upgrade for any 690/701 owner.

I'd better bought it before even buying new motorcycle. Mine OEM clutch slave broke after 1000 miles. You need this. Trust me.

Install this unit when you buy your 690 / 701
I made it all of 270 miles before the stock clutch stave packed it in. I should have listened to all of the reviews, it was not a matter of if it would fail but WHEN it would fail. I was lucky to be pulling out of the driveway when it quit but you may not be that lucky. Quick easy install if you replace before the stock unit fails. If it fails before your replace you will be faced with bleeding the clutch system and replacing the engine oil and filters to eliminate the clutch fluid contamination. Quick delivery of a quality product.

you lnkw why your here....
My 2020 slave was going to fail. I didn’t know until I just bit the bullet for this part. Glad I did, OEM would’ve left me stranded without a doubt. I would just do it. Peace of mind for your bike.
