I am an engineer for a large company that happens to manufacture motorcycles with shared components to that of the KTM 690 which should've been easy for me to handle. Nope.
Anyone that knows the corporate world of engines knows that disabling a factory feature will get you some looks like you've grown a third arm from your forehead. Well, being the owner of a KTM 690, I know that KTM/Keihin did their part of making the bike legal, which caused some of us enthusiasts some gripes until Rottweiler decided to make it easy, They took their impedance measurements, sensor voltages, and rideability testes and solved most of the BS that we are trying to undo.
This kit IS the answer to removing a bunch of useless nonsense on a supermotard. Simple. Straight-forward. Well thought out.
My only gripe is that this didn't happen sooner. Sai la vie. This kit is the end-all-be-all, that when combined with a proper tune, is what the hoolies at KTM intended. Not some smog-tuned sewing machine.
